Code, Local Government § 18–402","heading":"","body":"(a) The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City or the governing body of\na county or municipality may designate, by law, an area within the political\nsubdivision as a tourism zone.\n(b) In designating a tourism zone under subsection (a) of this section, the\npolitical subdivision may provide, by law, for:\n(1) the duration of the designation; and\n(2) eligibility criteria to qualify as a qualifying tourism enterprise.\n(c) The designation of an area as a tourism zone does not preclude the area\nfrom also being designated as an arts and entertainment district under Title 4,\nSubtitle 7 of the Economic Development Article.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=18-402","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"951d758ceaf3bd93438eb25888ea9efcd4706fd541a6a6bfbc9bef51a65c781c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-18-401","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-18-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
