Code, Local Government § 19–201","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Bond” means an obligation for the payment of money, by\nwhatever name known or source of funds secured, issued by a governmental entity\nunder general or special statutory authority.\n(2) “Bond” includes:\n(i) a bond;\n(ii) a certificate of indebtedness;\n(iii) an interim certificate; and\n(iv) a note.\n(c) “Enabling act” means a law that authorizes a governmental entity to\ncreate a debt and sell bonds to evidence that debt.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=19-201","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"432f48402414386c07facdfc34780dd6b29db87ec2cbbd05058dc5041a825b70","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-19-106","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-19-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
