Code, Local Government § 20–403","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in § 20–404 of this subtitle, a county may impose, by\nresolution, a hotel rental tax.\n(b) (1) This subsection applies only to Calvert County, Charles County,\nand St. Mary’s County.\n(2) The governing body of a county shall hold a public hearing before\nimposing a hotel rental tax.\n(3) The hearing:\n(i) shall be advertised twice in a newspaper of general\ncirculation in the county at least 10 days before the hearing; and\n(ii) may not be part of the annual budget hearing.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=20-403","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"2e0252120a95e1dcae5408dc75d98502bd8c3b9f602c51f4069cd46fa0ed599c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-402","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-404"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
