Code, Local Government § 20–608","heading":"","body":"(a) By ordinance, a municipality may impose a user fee on charges for the\ndocking and storage of boats.\n(b) (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, a municipality shall\nset the rate of the user fee.\n(2) The rate of the user fee may not exceed 5% of the rental charges\nfor the docking and storage of boats.\n(c) The total amount of user fees charged per boat slip under this section\nmay not exceed $100 annually.\n(d) A municipality shall use any revenue from the user fee authorized under\nthis section:\n(1) to maintain and enhance:\n(i) water quality;\n(ii) water and wastewater treatment facilities;\n(iii) marinas;\n(iv) law enforcement;\n(v) public safety; or\n(vi) fire services; or\n(2) for land acquisition and the related construction and\nmaintenance of public facilities to enhance public use and water access.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=20-608","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"a23763779cc3d0f87336e8fce5a8ae24ff5f9c6e187649351d5ccc6f0be4b28f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-607","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-609"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
