Code, Local Government § 20–705","heading":"","body":"(a) By ordinance, the County Council of Harford County may impose a\ndevelopment impact fee not exceeding $10,000 on new construction or development.\n(b) (1) The County Treasurer shall deposit the revenues from the\ndevelopment impact fee into a special fund.\n(2) The revenues from the special fund may be used only for school:\n(i) site acquisition;\n(ii) construction;\n(iii) renovation;\n(iv) debt reduction; or\n(v) capital expenses.\n(c) A municipality in Harford County shall assist the county council in the\ncollection of the development impact fee in the municipality by:\n(1) collecting and remitting the fee to the county; or\n(2) requiring the fee to be paid to the county in accordance with the\ncounty ordinance.\n(d) If a development impact fee is enacted under this section, the county\nshall:\n(1) prepare an annual report on the revenues generated by the\ndevelopment impact fee and how those revenues were spent; and\n(2) on or before May 31 of each year, submit the report to the Harford\nCounty Delegation to the General Assembly.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=20-705","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"55a77674452b3fa81969ce61c422ffa4cc468a453ea459f0f07c9113b141f116","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-704","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-20-706"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
