Code, Local Government § 21–205","heading":"","body":"(a) The governing body of a county is the district council for each district in\nthe county.\n(b) A district council shall:\n(1) keep a separate record of its proceedings for each district; and\n(2) deposit all money received for each district to the credit of that\ndistrict.\n(c) (1) The district council shall require the depository of money under\nsubsection (b)(2) of this section to give the same security for the repayment of money\ndeposited and pay the same interest on the money as is required for the deposit of\ncounty funds.\n(2) Any interest earnings on money deposited for a district shall be\ncredited to that district.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=21-205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"4843b7c728f429b40b2a6552c3282c6ded73777ba4b9698b96b0044f73ba33a1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-204","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
