Code, Local Government § 21–211","heading":"","body":"(a) The district council shall publish notice once each week for 2 successive\nweeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the county or in technical press for\nbids for the construction of a project.\n(b) (1) The district council shall award the contract for a project to the\nlowest responsible bidder.\n(2) The district council may:\n(i) reject any and all bids for a contract for a project; and\n(ii) readvertise for bids, in accordance with and subject to this\nsubtitle.\n(c) (1) Before awarding a contract for a project, the district council shall\nrequire from the successful bidder a bond in a form and amount approved by the\ndistrict council.\n(2) The bond shall be conditioned on:\n(i) completing the project in accordance with the plans,\nspecifications, and time limitations specified in the contract; and\n(ii) paying for all supplies and labor provided to the contractor\nin the construction of the project.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=21-211","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"90a31d01a0014c92333042977259a866eb5983ff70a9bb6b3e65d6ac503c70a1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-210","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-212"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
