Code, Local Government § 21–509","heading":"","body":"(a) A special taxing district established under this subtitle shall be\nterminated if:\n(1) no bonds authorized by this subtitle are outstanding with respect\nto the special taxing district;\n(2) no MEDCO obligations as to which a county has pledged revenues\nunder this subtitle are outstanding with respect to the special taxing district; and\n(3) the governing body of the county determines not to use money in\nthe special fund for payment of costs of:\n(i) infrastructure improvements located in or supporting a\ntransit–oriented development or a State hospital redevelopment; or\n(ii) operating and maintaining infrastructure improvements\nlocated in or supporting a transit–oriented development or a State hospital\nredevelopment.\n(b) Any money remaining in the special fund on the date of termination of\nthe special taxing district shall be paid to the general fund of the county.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=21-509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"ded67a0c11c2f03276fe1028df15c3e90e37f92e297b81b826ab0de8b9134049","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-508","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
