Code, Local Government § 21–601","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Bond” means a bond, note, or other evidence of obligation.\n(c) “Commission” means the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.\n(d) “Sanitary district” has the meaning stated in § 16–101 of the Public\nUtilities Article.\n(e) (1) “Stormwater management” means the planning, designing,\nacquisition, construction, demolition, maintenance, and operation of facilities,\npractices, and programs for the control and disposition of storm and surface water.\n(2) “Stormwater management” includes floodproofing, flood control,\nand navigation programs.\n(3) In Prince George’s County, “stormwater management” also\nmeans the protection, conservation, regulation, creation, and acquisition of property\ndescribed in §§ 5–901(g) and 16–101(l) of the Environment Article, consistent with\nfederal and State laws and regulations on the subject of nontidal and private\nwetlands.\n(f) “Stormwater management district” means a stormwater management\ndistrict authorized under this subtitle.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=21-601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"973542a2d87577d51e84adfe4f2dd4cb6e4f0d9ed6daa9a5db59ce2e70a01f40","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-523","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-21-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
