Code, Local Government § 25–1003","heading":"","body":"(a) If a channel established under this title crosses a railroad right–of–way\nat the intersection of the right–of–way with a natural watercourse or depression\nthrough which water flows at periods of high water, the railroad company shall:\n(1) construct, build, and maintain any necessary new bridge or\nculvert; or\n(2) enlarge, strengthen, reconstruct, or replace any existing bridge or\nculvert.\n(b) The expense to build a railroad under subsection (a) of this section shall\nbe:\n(1) considered an element of damage to the railroad company by the\nboard of viewers; and\n(2) shown as a damage in the report of the board of viewers.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=25-1003","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"3c6a329041f3fa7ea1416df41c1dfe2147a79abe49cb014d78fd89613f5edbac","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-1002","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-1101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
