Code, Local Government § 25–1102","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, a person\nmay not obstruct a watershed project constructed under this title in a manner that\nimpedes the free flow of water.\n(2) A person may place a properly constructed swinging water gate\nacross a ditch on a fence line to prevent livestock from trespassing through the ditch.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on\nconviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $20 for each offense.\n(c) Each fine collected under this section shall be paid to the county tax\ncollector and credited to the watershed association that suffered the damage.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=25-1102","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"615e0aa366ffb20119e1d4d2386ffa67b9b926c150205fbc2ab7a3b3419b6f50","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-1101","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
