Code, Local Government § 25–203","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The petition shall be accompanied by a report from the local soil\nconservation districts serving the area to be affected by the proposed watershed\nassociation.\n(2) The report shall state:\n(i) the size and location of the area to be affected by the\nproposed watershed association;\n(ii) the nature of the problem to be addressed;\n(iii) the type of treatment believed to be needed and the benefits\nanticipated;\n(iv) whether the proposed watershed association is feasible and\nis generally supported by the landowners in the area;\n(v) whether the proposed watershed association will benefit\nthe public and promote the public health, safety, and welfare;\n(vi) the name of the proposed watershed association, in the\nform of the “________ Public Watershed Association”; and\n(vii) the number of directors, equaling not less than three, to\nserve as the board of directors.\n(b) The local soil conservation districts shall file with the report maps that\nshow:\n(1) a general delineation of the area to be affected by the proposed\nwatershed association; and\n(2) the area’s location in each county in which the proposed\nwatershed association lies.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=25-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"1e70f8f50bd8291b7d16117ff33a47e6a4b209ca6ec25bcfb708e1294e519e3f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
