Code, Local Government § 25–303","heading":"","body":"(a) Each year, the landowners shall meet to elect a successor to:\n(1) any director whose term expired on or before the date of the\nmeeting; and\n(2) any director who died or resigned since the last annual meeting.\n(b) (1) The county commissioners, county council, or Mayor and City\nCouncil of Baltimore City shall appoint an individual to fill a vacancy on the board of\ndirectors if:\n(i) the board of directors does not call an annual meeting of\nlandowners; or\n(ii) the board of directors holds an annual meeting of\nlandowners but the landowners do not elect a director as required under subsection\n(a) of this section.\n(2) If there is a vacancy on the board of directors, the county\ncommissioners, county council, or Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City may\nappoint a director to serve until the next annual meeting of landowners.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=25-303","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"4c586164b18e91218fcd907f0c690176227a1ab0c4d2f68efcf2ece7e23e2bbc","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-302","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
