Code, Local Government § 25–601","heading":"","body":"(a) A watershed association may acquire any right–of–way, easement, or\nother property right necessary to construct and maintain the watershed project for:\n(1) watershed protection;\n(2) flood prevention;\n(3) recreation;\n(4) soil conservation;\n(5) drainage; and\n(6) the conservation, development, storage, use, and disposal of\nwater for any beneficial purpose.\n(b) (1) A watershed association shall submit to the clerk of the circuit\ncourt in the appropriate county a book, to be known as the “easement record”, that\ncontains each easement for maintenance or right–of–way, according to the original\ndesign specifications or for not less than 20 feet, that the watershed association has\nin the county.\n(2) A watershed association shall keep the easement record current.\n(3) The clerk of a circuit court shall make an easement record\navailable for inspection by the public.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=25-601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"59270d51259f412886e6df67fc412aa28e4e80015cd7c5866bd855740791146e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-512","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-25-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
