Code, Local Government § 26–303","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The term of each manager is 3 years.\n(2) Each manager shall serve until a successor is elected or\nappointed.\n(b) (1) Each year, the landowners shall meet to elect a successor to:\n(i) any manager whose term expired on or before the date of\nthe meeting; and\n(ii) any manager who died or resigned since the last annual\nmeeting.\n(2) A manager who is elected to fill a vacancy caused by death or\nresignation shall hold the office for the rest of the term.\n(c) (1) The county commissioners or county council shall appoint an\nindividual to fill a vacancy on the board of managers if:\n(i) the board of managers does not call an annual meeting of\nlandowners; or\n(ii) the board of managers holds an annual meeting of\nlandowners but a quorum is not present.\n(2) The county commissioners or county council may appoint a\nmanager to fill a vacancy on the board of managers until the next annual meeting of\nlandowners.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=26-303","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"ea6cf2a903959019c52985af1dc777bd01d6e5217e007af4ca33a1ed33b4aae9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-302","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
