Code, Local Government § 26–507","heading":"","body":"(a) At the earliest feasible date, the board of viewers shall submit three\ncopies of a written report to the county commissioners or county council and to the\nState Soil Conservation Committee in the Department of Agriculture.\n(b) The report shall state:\n(1) whether the proposed drainage project:\n(i) is feasible;\n(ii) will benefit the public or promote the public health, safety,\nor welfare; and\n(iii) will benefit the land to be affected by the drainage project\nsufficiently to warrant the probable expenditure;\n(2) the name of each person entitled to damages and the amount of\nthe damages;\n(3) the name of each person entitled to compensation for a drainage\nproject adopted under § 26–505 of this subtitle and the amount of the compensation;\n(4) the amount determined under § 26–504(a)(1) of this subtitle; and\n(5) the amount for which each landowner shall be assessed as a share\nof the total cost of the drainage project and its proportion of the whole.\n(c) The board of viewers shall file with the report three copies of maps and\nprofiles that show:\n(1) the location of the proposed drainage project on a map, drawing,\nor aerial photograph to a suitable scale;\n(2) a general delineation of the boundary of the area affected, with\nthe general location in the county indicated;\n(3) a general delineation of the boundaries of each landowner’s tract,\nwith an estimate of the acreage that each tract contains; and\n(4) the dimensions and profiles of the proposed drainage project.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=26-507","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"6d10253e5fef6c3545f8c2ce66c275aa4a8a3c402638353453f29f95b10d38ef","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-506","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-508"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
