Code, Local Government § 26–508","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The county commissioners or county council shall examine a\nreport submitted by a board of viewers under § 26–507 of this subtitle at the first\nmeeting after receiving the report.\n(2) If the county commissioners or county council find that a report\nunder § 26–507 of this subtitle is not in proper form or not in compliance with the\nlaw, the report shall be returned to the board of viewers to be corrected and\nresubmitted.\n(3) If the county commissioners or county council find that a report\nunder § 26–507 of this subtitle is in proper form and in compliance with the law, the\ncounty commissioners or county council shall set a date for a public hearing on the\nreport.\n(b) (1) At least 30 days before a hearing under this section, the county\ncommissioners or county council shall:\n(i) publish notice of the time and place of the hearing in a\nnewspaper of general circulation in each county in which the land affected is located;\nand\n(ii) mail a notice to each person named in the report.\n(2) Notice of the hearing shall state that a copy of the report is\navailable for inspection in an office of the designated officer.\n(c) A copy of the report of the board of viewers shall be:\n(1) available for inspection in an office of the designated officer; and\n(2) sent to the Secretary of Agriculture and the State Soil\nConservation Committee in the Department of Agriculture.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=26-508","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"935808fe1d43a1960158a3975155aa37d9030695d7cd5ce0f9ca4bd84a150302","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-507","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
