Code, Local Government § 26–701","heading":"","body":"(a) The board of managers shall implement the drainage project.\n(b) The board of managers may:\n(1) hire employees;\n(2) buy, hire, or rent machines, and buy explosives;\n(3) award contracts;\n(4) enter into an agreement with any county, State, or federal unit of\ngovernment; and\n(5) do other acts as necessary, including borrowing money, in the\nname of the board of managers, if the borrowing is approved by the county\ncommissioners or county council.\n(c) The county tax collector shall make payment on behalf of the drainage\nassociation as directed by the board of managers.\n(d) The board of managers shall:\n(1) keep a regular account of its income and expenses; and\n(2) report its income and expenses to the annual meetings of the\ndrainage association and meetings of the landowners.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=26-701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"832f6a1e0cc836a1fa731ac99ffd9b8b2cc784ff03523c5dd49f8470a2194ed0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
