Code, Local Government § 26–804","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The board of managers may impose a special assessment on the\npublic and private benefited land for maintenance of a drainage project constructed\nunder this title.\n(2) If the board of managers requests, the county commissioners or\ncounty council may appoint a board of viewers to evaluate changes in land use made\nafter the original determination for a drainage project.\n(3) The board of managers may use the evaluation report as a basis\nto impose a special assessment for maintenance of a drainage project.\n(b) The special assessments under this section shall be imposed and\ndisbursed in the same manner as provided for other special assessments under this\nsubtitle, except that the board of managers may, at any time, determine which land\nis classified as woodland, cropland, commercial, industrial, or residential.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=26-804","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"c221ab80f90d520df45aab248271d541c9f0a40be4b9a7ce92da43ddabb19353","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-803","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
