Code, Local Government § 27–101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Board of drainage commissioners” means the board of drainage\ncommissioners of a drainage district.\n(c) “Board of viewers” means the board of viewers of a drainage district\nestablished under this title.\n(d) “Designated officer” means:\n(1) the clerk of the county commissioners for a code county or\ncommission county if there is a clerk for the county; or\n(2) an employee or official of a county who is designated by the county\ncommissioners or county council to perform the responsibilities of the designated\nofficer under this title.\n(e) “Drainage district” means a drainage district established under this\ntitle.\n(f) “Landowner” means a person who owns land located in a drainage\ndistrict or proposed drainage district.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=27-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"080798d4c7bef3efb397dbbbe7c52041d3e2967c918936fefe1526636bf7bd7a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-26-1102","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-27-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
