Code, Local Government § 27–301","heading":"","body":"(a) The county commissioners or county council shall appoint a board of\nviewers to:\n(1) examine the land described in the petition; and\n(2) issue a preliminary report on the land.\n(b) (1) The board of viewers shall consist of:\n(i) a civil and drainage engineer; and\n(ii) two resident landowners of the county where the land is\nlocated.\n(2) (i) The civil and drainage engineer shall be an individual\nrecommended by the State drainage engineer.\n(ii) If there is no State drainage engineer, the civil and\ndrainage engineer shall be an individual recommended by the State roads engineer.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=27-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"56902ca05cede722e96173c05032f0b083ab64cce8c40eb8776bed92ddb08a6c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-27-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-27-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
