Code, Local Government § 27–707","heading":"","body":"(a) A drainage district may use any loan or other assistance from the federal\ngovernment for drainage or reclamation work.\n(b) (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, to facilitate any\ncooperative construction plan agreed to by the federal government and any drainage\ndistrict, the board of drainage commissioners may issue bonds of the drainage district\nin the form and maturities required by the federal government.\n(2) A contract or agreement between the drainage district and the\nfederal government for cooperative construction work is subject to approval by a\nmajority of the landowners of the drainage district.\n(c) State officials shall solicit the cooperation of the federal government to\ndrain and reclaim agriculture lands.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=27-707","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"312a70e3e6df29e334b4971f7190a0b427e4cda5c2e00115683143372bd1557a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-27-706","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-27-708"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
