Code, Local Government § 4–411","heading":"","body":"(a) The chief executive and administrative officer of the municipality shall\nschedule a referendum on the annexation resolution and publish notice of the date,\ntime, and place at which the referendum will be held.\n(b) The referendum shall be held:\n(1) no sooner than 15 days and no later than 90 days after notices of\nthe referendum are published; and\n(2) at one or more places in:\n(i) the municipality, for the referendum in the municipality;\nand\n(ii) the area to be annexed, for the referendum in that area.\n(c) Public notice of the referendum shall be published:\n(1) twice at not less than weekly intervals; and\n(2) in at least one newspaper of general circulation in the\nmunicipality and the area to be annexed.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=4-411","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"7e675adfcfb043a899bff0b1ed8d288ed783b4d92c02c33f5c9c08016fd9de2c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-4-410","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-4-412"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
