Code, Local Government § 6–105","heading":"","body":"(a) If a citation is served without a summons, the defendant may elect to\nstand trial for the municipal infraction by providing written notice of intent to stand\ntrial to the municipality at least 5 days before the payment date specified in the\ncitation.\n(b) (1) After receiving the written notice of intention to stand trial, the\nmunicipality shall forward a copy of the citation and notice to the District Court\nhaving venue.\n(2) After receiving the citation and notice, the District Court shall:\n(i) schedule the case for trial; and\n(ii) notify the defendant of the trial date.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=6-105","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"883828d9aa7b2a1a2acace902e280e90d1c515d7d38a5b136c79a03ab23c4338","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-6-104","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-6-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
