Code, Local Government § 6–108.1","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “qualified building inspector or enforcement officer”\nmeans a building inspector or an enforcement officer that is nationally accredited and\ncertified by the International Code Council or the National Fire Protection\nAssociation as:\n(1) a building inspector;\n(2) a fire inspector;\n(3) an accessibility inspector; or\n(4) a property maintenance and housing inspector.\n(b) A municipality may designate a qualified building inspector or\nenforcement officer to testify in a municipal infraction proceeding without the\nassistance of a prosecuting attorney.\n(c) Nothing in this section shall limit or restrict the ability of a prosecuting\nattorney to call individuals to testify in a municipal infraction proceeding.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=6-108.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"0655a114b1744d4d371ee1449483af76821abfce25b7cb675b254bacda4c03aa","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-6-108","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-6-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
