Code, Local Government § 9–206","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) At the end of each calendar or fiscal year, each charter county\nshall compile a complete set of all local laws enacted during that year under the\nExpress Powers Act, Title 10 of this article.\n(2) The laws in the compilation shall be in numerical order,\nbeginning with No. 1, and in a separate series for each year.\n(b) (1) Subject to paragraph (3) of this subsection, copies of the\ncompilation shall be:\n(i) kept on permanent record at the office of the county\ncouncil, county executive, or county manager;\n(ii) made available for inspection during regular business\nhours at that office; and\n(iii) provided in printed form without charge to the State\nArchives and the Maryland Thurgood Marshall State Law Library.\n(2) Annually, each charter county shall provide each member of the\nGeneral Assembly representing any part of the county with:\n(i) notice that a digital copy of the compilation is available on\nthe Internet; or\n(ii) a printed copy of the compilation without charge.\n(3) The charter county may make other copies of the compilation\navailable at a reasonable cost to any person.\n(c) On or before March 1 of each year, the charter county shall provide\nwithout charge four printed copies of the compilation to the Department of Legislative\nServices.\n(d) Each charter county shall provide to the Department of Legislative\nServices a statement that includes information on:\n(1) the results of any referendum on a proposed local law held during\nthe year; and\n(2) any actual or potential pending referendum that had not been\nheld by the end of the year.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=9-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"1d5e1c4995858d8f78c715a0b50e276fc3680aeccfddb8090244d850b08358d6","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-9-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-9-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
