Code, Local Government § 9–305","heading":"","body":"(a) Within 60 days after the last public hearing, the county commissioners\nshall decide whether to adopt code home rule.\n(b) To adopt code home rule, the county commissioners shall adopt a\nresolution by at least a two–thirds majority of all the individuals elected to the board\nof county commissioners.\n(c) The resolution shall state that, subject to approval at referendum, the\ncounty shall operate under Article XI–F of the Maryland Constitution.\n(d) The county commissioners shall send a certified copy of the resolution\nto the county board of elections.","path":["Article - Local Government"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=glg\u0026section=9-305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:59:58Z","sha256":"883ee5910e849b6b2b8c18854f3f39fa84de089dda11255e450bd69666f1c98c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-9-304","next":"us-md/md.-code-local-government-9-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
