Code, Natural Resources § 10–2C–02","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a performance that takes place at a nonmobile, permanent institution or other fixed facility, provided that the covered animal is not transported to the institution or facility for a period of less than 60 days for the sole purpose of a performance.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person may not allow for the performance of a covered animal in a traveling animal act.\n(c) A person who violates this section is subject to a civil penalty not to exceed $2,000 per violation.\n(d) The provisions of this section may be enforced by:\n(1) A State or local law enforcement officer; or\n(2) The local animal control authority for the jurisdiction where the violation occurs.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=10-2C-02","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"5ddf21d081fa8c7a30321b414e8e217cd037630931bf507e9d45eb5adf4b8fd2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-10-2c-01","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-10-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
