Code, Natural Resources § 10–427","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, a person may not sponsor, conduct, or participate in a contest organized in the State that has the objective of killing a coyote, fox, or raccoon for prizes or monetary rewards.\n(b) This section may not be construed to prohibit:\n(1) A landowner or the landowner’s agent or lessee from killing coyotes, foxes, or raccoons on property of the landowner, provided that the killing is not part of an organized contest; or\n(2) Lawful dog training or dog performance competitions.\n(c) A person is subject to a fine of $50 for each coyote, fox, or raccoon killed in violation of subsection (a) of this section.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=10-427","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"2c873771420cd46c023a3dc7775d9364aa94b1311261e11926b664c9081e6057","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-10-426","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-10-428"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
