Code, Natural Resources § 4–904","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not catch shrimp for commercial purposes unless the person first obtains a license from the Department.\n(b) (1) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this title, the Department may adopt regulations:\n(i) Governing any aspect of the shrimp fishery; and\n(ii) Establishing and implementing a pilot program related to fishing for shrimp.\n(2) Regulations adopted under paragraph (1)(i) of this subsection may authorize the Department to establish for the shrimp fishery by public notice:\n(i) Closed areas;\n(ii) Catch limits;\n(iii) Seasons;\n(iv) Size limits;\n(v) Gear restrictions; and\n(vi) Reporting requirements.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=4-904","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"c3b98f44c6a0275640fee4506aa7ae93551d0d20060c40902f9cf321d9c1061e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-4-903","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-4-906"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
