Code, Natural Resources § 5–427","heading":"","body":"(a) The governing body of a county or municipal corporation, by appropriate resolution or ordinance, may implement a local urban and community forestry program within its jurisdiction or enter into a cooperative agreement with the Department.\n(b) The Department may accept federal funds and provide funds, on a matching basis, to:\n(1) Cooperating counties and municipal corporations for the purpose of administering an urban and community forestry program; and\n(2) Nonprofit corporations that participate in the implementation and administration of an urban and community forestry program.\n(c) Any urban and community forestry program within the Department shall be:\n(1) Funded as provided in the budget; and\n(2) Consistent with § 5–307 of this title.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=5-427","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"c6cca80bf64b5dda4033523d8c600963cd127e1fe60777799ed618c3b8bf0e52","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-5-426","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-5-428"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
