Code, Natural Resources § 8–203.1","heading":"","body":"The Secretary:\n(1) Using eligible funding sources, may purchase environmental outcomes, as defined in § 8–2A–01 of this title, that provide for cost–effective long–term or permanent green or blue infrastructure projects that:\n(i) Improve the water quality of Maryland’s portion of the Chesapeake Bay; and\n(ii) Are located in the Susquehanna River watershed; and\n(2) Shall consult with the secretary of the environmental agency of the state in which the project is located to ensure that:\n(i) The state supports the project; and\n(ii) For the purchased environmental outcomes, there is mutual agreement as to the allocation of credits to the Chesapeake Bay total maximum daily load’s watershed implementation plans.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=8-203.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"2819bc275faf97bffcf44792ef1bcb6c7cbbc32aaf86676b06d0a4240fec8be4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-203","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
