Code, Natural Resources § 8–725.9","heading":"","body":"(a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, the Department may establish or alter by public notice:\n(1) If the Department determines public safety is at risk and it is contrary to the public interest to delay action, a speed zone near:\n(i) A construction project on or adjacent to State waters;\n(ii) A marine event; or\n(iii) An accident or other emergent situation; or\n(2) An area where vessel movement is controlled, limited, or restricted as designated by the U.S. Coast Guard or another federal agency.\n(b) The Department may adopt regulations to implement this section.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=8-725.9","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"5fba797d7a8639e7998e376fc30b5a581d72c0df41031c4f3a8ef1896e57f2b2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-725.8","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-726"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
