Code, Natural Resources § 8–738.2","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not:\n(1) Operate a vessel recklessly or in a manner that may endanger another or the property of another on a bay, creek, lake, river, or stream in the State; or\n(2) Come into a wharf or bathing shore recklessly or in a manner that may endanger a person or property.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to:\n(1) For a first conviction, imprisonment not exceeding 30 days or a fine of not less than $25 and not exceeding $200 or both; and\n(2) For a second or subsequent conviction, imprisonment not exceeding 60 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Natural Resources"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gnr\u0026section=8-738.2","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:08Z","sha256":"51883425a3cac16c47fd3319a21d81a4ac0527b4c974bcead2321a5254d953b7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-738.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-natural-resources-8-738.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
