Code, Public Safety § 12–1204","heading":"","body":"(a) A local jurisdiction may adopt local amendments to the Standards if the local amendments do not:\n(1) prohibit the minimum implementation and enforcement activities set forth in § 12–1205 of this subtitle; or\n(2) weaken energy conservation and efficiency provisions contained in the Standards.\n(b) If a local jurisdiction adopts a local amendment to the Standards, the Standards as amended by the local jurisdiction apply in the local jurisdiction.\n(c) If a local amendment conflicts with the Standards, the local amendment prevails in the local jurisdiction.\n(d) A local jurisdiction that adopts a local amendment to the Standards shall ensure that the local amendment is adopted in accordance with applicable local law.\n(e) To keep the database established under this subtitle current, a local jurisdiction that adopts a local amendment to the Standards shall provide a copy of the local amendment to the Department:\n(1) at least 15 days before the effective date of the amendment; or\n(2) within 5 days after the adoption of an emergency local amendment.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=12-1204","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"a24b85dcf7cb261510713e8252c20707d81f080e31733293a8692c45040273b4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-12-1203","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-12-1205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
