Code, Public Safety § 13–601","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) On the recommendation of the Adjutant General, the Governor may grant to an officer of the organized militia a brevet commission of the next higher grade than the regular commission held by the officer.\n(2) The Governor may grant a brevet commission to an officer of the organized militia of a grade equal to the highest grade in which the officer previously served in the organized militia or in the armed forces.\n(b) A brevet commission carries only the rights or privileges that are allowed in like cases in the military service of the United States.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=13-601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"0663c9e1a4a458a715f5e384299894b71c3033bc3ec10bfd4711d0e76f65b7d3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-510","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
