Code, Public Safety § 13–901","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to the wearing of:\n(1) shoes, socks, shirts, ties, or scarfs; or\n(2) trousers, overalls, overcoats, raincoats, field jackets, or headgear from which the service buttons, insignia, and other distinctive markings have been removed.\n(b) Without authority under the laws of the United States or this State, a person may not wear a uniform or distinctive part of a uniform or an item similar to a uniform or a distinctive part of a uniform of:\n(1) the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, or Coast Guard;\n(2) the National Guard of this State, another state, or the United States;\n(3) the Maryland Defense Force; or\n(4) an auxiliary of any of the military units listed in this subsection.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 60 days or a fine of not less than $100 and not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=13-901","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"5fabd082c1565dfa07f8287384522c0ae4907a5f5ad676013fb2ecfbbfb08f0b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-811","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
