{"data":{"id":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-902","jurisdiction":"us-md","citation":"Md. Code, Public Safety § 13–902","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a member of the uniformed services, the organized militia of this State or another state, an officer of the Maryland Defense Force, or a member of associations wholly composed of service members, as defined in § 9–901 of the State Government Article, honorably discharged from the uniformed services.\n(b) A person may not:\n(1) hide, sell, dispose of, offer for sale, purchase, retain after a demand by a commissioned officer of the organized militia, or pledge any arms, uniforms, equipment, or other military property issued under this title; or\n(2) wear any of the following articles or objects prescribed by law for the use of the organized militia:\n(i) a uniform;\n(ii) a device, strap, knot, or insignia of any design or character that is used as a designation of grade, rank, or office; or\n(iii) an article or object similar to an article or object described in item (i) or (ii) of this item.\n(c) (1) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine of not less than $20 and not exceeding $50 for each offense.\n(2) (i) A fine imposed under paragraph (1) of this subsection shall be paid to the Adjutant General.\n(ii) The Adjutant General shall apply a fine paid under this paragraph to the use of the organized militia.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=13-902","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"419b25d20f638c2f91b1111cade4d5c2d788fde4444cc4fe7d3e859fa0a13dfe","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-901","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-13-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
