Code, Public Safety § 2–312","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, the Secretary shall charge a fee of $5 per fingerprint card to each individual who requests that the individual be fingerprinted.\n(b) A fee may not be charged to an individual who is:\n(1) fingerprinted as a matter of procedure in a law enforcement action;\n(2) required to have fingerprints retaken because of any fault or error by the Department during the preparation of the fingerprint card; or\n(3) otherwise declared by the Secretary to be exempt from this section.\n(c) Subject to the Administrative Procedure Act, the Secretary shall adopt regulations to carry out this section.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=2-312","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"b6fa49517e43a6ad445edf61ed3670730c5e0aa960bcb9ccaeda8b507b55b946","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-2-311","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-2-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
