Code, Public Safety § 3–517","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “local law enforcement agency” means:\n(1) a police department of a county or municipal corporation in the State; or\n(2) a sheriff’s office that provides a law enforcement function in a county or municipal corporation in the State.\n(b) Each local law enforcement agency shall adopt a community policing program in accordance with best practices developed by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.\n(c) Each local law enforcement agency shall:\n(1) post a detailed description of the local law enforcement agency’s community policing program on the Internet in accordance with § 3–515 of this subtitle; and\n(2) annually file a detailed description of the local law enforcement agency’s community policing program with the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission, in accordance with § 3–207 of this title.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=3-517","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"d5cc7082e109b63c1d530554abe203dd5d60fb4d96c554563df047ac00984e4a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-3-516","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-3-518"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
