Code, Public Safety § 4–103","heading":"","body":"(a) The Executive Director shall establish procedures for local law enforcement agencies to apply for money from the Fund.\n(b) A local law enforcement agency that applies for money from the Fund shall provide the Executive Director with the following information:\n(1) the number of violent crime incidents committed within the jurisdiction of the local law enforcement agency for the last 2 years;\n(2) the current number of sworn officers;\n(3) the current number of sworn officers not assigned protective body armor;\n(4) the number and age of protective body armor units currently in use by the local law enforcement agency;\n(5) the number of protective body armor units requested:\n(i) for officers not currently assigned protective body armor; and\n(ii) for officers assigned protective body armor in need of replacement due to age or wear;\n(6) the regulations of the local law enforcement agency that relate to the use of protective body armor;\n(7) the local law enforcement agency’s budget request for supplies and equipment for the current and last 2 fiscal years; and\n(8) any other information that the Executive Director considers necessary to make grants for protective body armor.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=4-103","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"7be743e33a33d15aeda8e859164d222d371bd9e2b55e19356b4e09c573fd0e10","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-4-102","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-4-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
