Code, Public Safety § 5–201","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Dealer’s license” means a federal firearms license.\n(c) “Immediate family member” means a spouse, a parent, a stepparent, a grandparent, a stepgrandparent, an aunt, an uncle, a sibling, a stepsibling, a child, a stepchild, a grandchild, a stepgrandchild, a niece, or a nephew, as related by blood or marriage.\n(d) “Licensee” means a person who holds a dealer’s license.\n(e) “NICS Index” has the meaning stated in § 5–133.2 of this title.\n(f) “Rifle” has the meaning stated in § 4–201 of the Criminal Law Article.\n(g) “Short–barreled rifle” has the meaning stated in § 4–201 of the Criminal Law Article.\n(h) “Short–barreled shotgun” has the meaning stated in § 4–201 of the Criminal Law Article.\n(i) “Shotgun” has the meaning stated in § 4–201 of the Criminal Law Article.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=5-201","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"d9a0a38f7c8fff608a27e710bb26328df16ca5138b67494b77cc9aa92c69df52","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-5-148","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-5-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
