Code, Public Safety § 5–503","heading":"","body":"(a) The purpose of the Council is to administer the Cease Fire Council Grant Program to support innovative and collaborative firearms violence reduction initiatives.\n(b) The Council shall:\n(1) make grants in accordance with § 5-504 of this subtitle;\n(2) establish or assist in the establishment of programs designed to reduce the incidence of firearms violence related crime and encourage participation in existing programs with these objectives;\n(3) identify specific goals, objectives, and methodologies to be used in support of programs eligible for funding under this subtitle;\n(4) identify priorities for firearms violence related crime prevention strategies in the State; and\n(5) develop criteria to evaluate the outcomes of programs that receive money under this subtitle.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=5-503","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"732cfa190134e0a9ed17926215d6d2d1be5720a478b8e12cc356f262e9b46360","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-5-502","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-5-504"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
