Code, Public Safety § 7–101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Fire, rescue, or emergency medical services entity” means:\n(1) a governmental subdivision, by its appropriate designated authority;\n(2) a board or fire commission of a fire department or governmental subdivision;\n(3) a fire department;\n(4) a fire company;\n(5) a rescue squad; or\n(6) an emergency medical services unit, including an entity that provides emergency medical services at any level.\n(c) (1) “Mutual aid agreement” means an agreement to establish and carry out a plan to assist in extinguishing fires and preserving life and property by providing fire fighting, rescue, or emergency medical equipment, personnel, and services.\n(2) “Mutual aid agreement” includes a reciprocal agreement entered into in accordance with this section and § 7–103 of this subtitle before July 1, 1989.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=7-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"dc898d562770354fb032e6997fe91f6e79c076b351cd8f1035bf5cf761bf2d95","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-6-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-7-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
