Code, Public Safety § 9–405","heading":"","body":"(a) For fire safety purposes, the owner of a residential high–rise building with rental units shall provide:\n(1) reasonable written notice annually to all residents of the residential high–rise building to inform residents who are mobility impaired of their right to request a rental unit on the first five floors of the high–rise building if one should become available; and\n(2) fire safety and building evacuation information and instruction to:\n(i) new tenants at the commencement of occupancy; and\n(ii) existing tenants every 2 years.\n(b) Information and instruction provided under subsection (a)(2) of this section shall include identification of fire alarm system elements in the building.","path":["Article - Public Safety"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gps\u0026section=9-405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:18Z","sha256":"d437d34a6f57a494118fbc805340b3d843825673198823be632954777df518a3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-9-404","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-safety-9-406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
