Code, Public Utilities § 12–111","heading":"","body":"(a) The Authority may obtain funding for its operational expenses from:\n(1) a federal or State grant;\n(2) filing fees and administrative fees for complaints heard by the Authority as authorized under § 12–112(c)(1) of this subtitle, including:\n(i) mailing costs;\n(ii) fees for delivery or service of process;\n(iii) reproduction costs; and\n(iv) staff costs associated with the complaint;\n(3) an additional assessment or charge per ticket as authorized under subsection (b) of this section; and\n(4) any other source.\n(b) The Authority may collect an assessment or a charge not exceeding 5 cents per ticket from an owner–member if the assessment or charge:\n(1) is not imposed on a county or a municipal corporation; and\n(2) is approved by a two–thirds vote of all members of the Authority.\n(c) Except as provided in subsections (a)(2) and (b) of this section, the Authority may not impose a charge or assessment against any person, directly or indirectly, to obtain funding for its operational expenses.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=12-111","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"1e04aa1f13eb181592e979a151247456dbc2e73630e762e3be2f8d90f82f2ee9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-12-110","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-12-112"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
