Code, Public Utilities § 18–126","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not impersonate another in an examination held under this subtitle.\n(b) A person may not willfully or corruptly falsify a score or report on an examination held under this subtitle.\n(c) (1) A person, acting alone or in cooperation with another, may not:\n(i) willfully or corruptly deceive an individual about the right to take an examination held under this subtitle;\n(ii) willfully or corruptly interfere with the right of an individual to take an examination held under this subtitle;\n(iii) falsify, or assist another to falsify, a score, grade, estimate, or report on the examination or standing of an individual examined under this subtitle; or\n(iv) give to an individual any special information in order to improve or harm the individual’s rating for appointment or employment.\n(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1)(iv) of this subsection, a person may answer any inquiry from the Secretary.\n(d) A candidate for employment may not deceive the Commission or the Secretary in order to improve the candidate’s chances for appointment.\n(e) (1) A candidate for appointment to a merit system position may not sign a resignation from that position in advance of the appointment.\n(2) A resignation signed in violation of paragraph (1) of this subsection is void and of no effect.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=18-126","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"c0204ef6c3b901e0680838da72cdd4d2616e99915a32350ee26870b65367005b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-18-125","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-18-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
