Code, Public Utilities § 23–301","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Major project” means an extension, project, or program of water and sewer facilities.\n(2) “Major project” includes:\n(i) a sewer main at least 15 inches in diameter;\n(ii) a water main at least 16 inches in diameter; and\n(iii) a sewage or water pumping station, force main, and storage or other major facility.\n(3) “Major project” does not include a sewer main or water main that:\n(i) provides only local service;\n(ii) is 2,000 feet or less; and\n(iii) is built to avoid unnecessary and uneconomical duplication when a major project is constructed.\n(c) “Program” means a 6–year projected program by the Commission of capital improvements for water and sewer facilities.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=23-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"a6657034b7292d706672e7e6727a8d7ae5519fe775ddbd5c7b878ef30408f024","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-23-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-23-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
