Code, Public Utilities § 25–203","heading":"","body":"(a) To impose a benefit charge for the construction of a water supply or sewer system, the Commission shall classify each property that abuts on a street, road, lane, alley, right–of–way, or easement in which a water main or sewer line is to be laid as:\n(1) agricultural;\n(2) industrial or business;\n(3) institutional;\n(4) multi–unit business;\n(5) multi–unit residential;\n(6) residential subdivision; or\n(7) small acreage.\n(b) The classification of a property by the Commission is final, subject only to revision:\n(1) at a hearing under § 25–204(a) of this subtitle; or\n(2) by the Commission if the use of the property changes.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=25-203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"b5f17079bad06c50f800ec1c7f82c0071a7019154bb9dbe227a3af0f4d6d2ced","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-25-202","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-25-204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
