Code, Public Utilities § 25–402","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to any other charges authorized under this division, the Commission may impose a system development charge that shall be paid by an applicant for new service.\n(b) The system development charge shall be paid as follows:\n(1) for residential properties:\n(i) 50% at the time the plumbing permit application is filed; and\n(ii) 50% within 12 months after the earlier of the date on which a plumbing permit application is filed or on transfer of title to the property; and\n(2) for other properties, 100% at the time the plumbing permit application is filed.\n(c) When the applicant files the plumbing permit application, the applicant shall deposit with the Commission security:\n(1) in the form of an irrevocable letter of credit;\n(2) in the form of a financial guaranty bond; or\n(3) in a form the Commission establishes and approves under its regulations.","path":["Article - Public Utilities"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gpu\u0026section=25-402","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:00:28Z","sha256":"9389a4c840daad46a80b41b94f856665733330bb73770c4e50e0b3c175254f8c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-25-401","next":"us-md/md.-code-public-utilities-25-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
